MANUFACTURER
Since 1947, we have been dedicated to developing,
manufacturing and distributing weatherstrip products to
the building industry. The finest quality materials have
been designed for quick and easy installation. We're
always looking for ways to improve our product lines,
which is why new material and special finishes have been
introduced in this catalog.
WARRANTY
Limited Three-Year Warranty
Columbia Aluminum Products warrants to the original
consumer purchasing this product under the provisions
of the Residential Conservations Service Program, that
the product is free of defects in materials, manufacture, or
design for a period of three years from the day of installation.
Should the product be otherwise than warranted during this
period, Columbia Aluminum Products shall repair or replace
the product found to be defective. "Replace" shall mean the
product found to be defective, and shall mean providing free
of charge an equivalent amount of new product in exchange
for the product found to be defective. All labor or other costs
of repair or replacement are excluded. This warranty does not
apply if the product is damaged by accident, misuse or abuse.
The repair or replace remedy provided for herein is the sole
and exclusive remedy available to purchasers of our products;
claims for consequential damages are expressly excluded.
MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS
Extruded Aluminum
All aluminum products are manufactured from 6063-T5,
6063-T6, 5050-H38 extruded aluminum. The following
finishes are available:
UL Ratings
Gasketing materials for firedoors are classified by Underwriters
Laboratories Inc. These are intended for application to hollow
metal- and steel-covered composite-type firedoors rated up to and
including 3 hours, and wood-covered composite and wood care
doors rated up to 1-1/2 hours. Products displaying this symbol
are Fire Rated UL 10B and Smoke Tested & Listed to meet the
requirements of UL1784, UBC7-2, Part II and BS476.
UL Positive Pressure
Products displaying this symbol are Fire Rated--Tested to
meet the requirements of Standard UL 10B & UL10 C, UBC
7-2, Part 1 & BS476 and Smoke Tested & Listed to meet the
requirements of Standards UL 1784 UBC7-2, Part II and BS476.
Handicapped
Products displaying this symbol are " high or less, and have
no more than a " vertical rise with slope portions not greater
than 1:2. Meets CABO ANSI 117.1 2003 and ADAAG September
2002 and CAC Sec 2-3303(i). ADA COMPLIANT Barrier Free
Thresholds meet the requirements of the AMERICANS WITH
DISABILITIES ACT Accessibility Guidelines for Buildings and
Facilities (ADAAG)-September 2002, and ICC/ANSI A117.1-
2003 Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities.
Roll Form Aluminum
Roll form products are provided with a baked enamel finish.
Vinyls
Standard vinyls far exceeds the minimum standard
specification in Commercial Standard CS 230-60, U.S. remains
flexible down to -35F (ASTM D-746).
Tear Resistance (ASTM D-1004) at 50 lbs/in
Elongation (ASTM D-412) 300%
Tensile Strength (ASTM D-412) 1800psi
Santoprene (STP)
Monsanto Santoprene #251-80 is a thermoplastic rubber with
flame retardents that have excellent resistance to compression
set, ozone, ultraviolet exposure, fungus and mildew.
Silicone (S)
Silicone is an excellent rubber product that remains flexible at
-100F and resilient above 400F. This material has excellent
resistance to compression set, ozone, ultraviolet exposure,
fungus and mildew.
Packaging
Items are bulk- or poly-wrapped, Individual poly wrap is a
clear 2- or 4- mill poly bag that provides protection to the
finish. Sills offered with 2" or full protective tape.
Fastener/Component Parts
Most products are provided with required fasteners and holes at
no extra cost. Fasteners are plated to color match the products
finish. All thresholds are punched or drilled for #10 Phillips
wood screws. No. 6 Sheet Metal Screws (SMS) are provided
with most door bottoms and weatherstrips. Anchors (#4458) are
available at extra cost. Waterdrain and interlocking thresholds
include all weep holes (no extra cost).

--Stocking Policy
Columbia Aluminum Products stocking policy is to keep a
quantity of our various profiles based on usage. Some styles
may not be stocked due to small quantity usage. All styles are
available in all colors on a custom order basis. Lead times on
the non-stocked items will vary from 3-5 weeks.
